Black Rodríguez Méndez y Súper Sioux Orquesta
El cantante y percusionista Black Rodríguez Méndez, junto a Nahuel Castro (teclados), Mauricio Jost (bandoneón) y Diego Soler (bajo), rescata el espíritu de las orquestas características, aquellas formaciones de los años 40 y 50 que a su repertorio de tangos sumaban foxtrots, pasodobles y otros ritmos bailables. De esos y otros géneros, como cumbia, bolero y candombe, se nutre el repertorio del grupo, que actualiza la tradición.
Singer and percussionist Black Rodríguez Méndez, along with Nahuel Castro (keyboards), Mauricio Jost (bandoneon) and Diego Soler (bass), revives the spirit of the classic orchestras, those ensembles from the 1940s and 1950s that supplemented their tango repertoire with foxtrots, pasodobles, and other danceable rhythms. The group’s repertoire draws on these and other genres, such as cumbia, bolero, and candombe, bringing the tradition into the present.
